The Central Ohio Region is asked to increase its collections of blood products each year to meet the growing demand within central Ohio and across the nation. On a national level, the Red Cross has committed to continuously increasing blood collection to meet the needs of patients throughout the country. The increased need is attributed to continuing medical advancements that have resulted in new uses for blood and blood products and an aging baby boomer population.

All Red Cross blood donors are volunteers. Local patients depend on blood products 365 days a year – regardless of holidays or inclement weather.
