Score a win for patients by giving blood with the Blue Jackets, OhioHealth

Rules and Regulations

September 2009

"Hockey: It’s in Your Blood” includes five prize packs (provided by Columbus Blue Jackets and OhioHealth) to be awarded between September 1 – 30, 2009.  One prize pack will be awarded per week of the campaign.  In addition, one Zamboni ride and one LCD TV will be awarded at the end of the campaign.

  • American Red Cross paid staff members are not eligible to participate in the prize drawings.  Columbus Blue Jackets paid staff are also not eligible to participate in the drawings.  Red Cross paid staff members are eligible to receive the special offer ticket voucher.
  • All volunteer whole blood and platelet donors are eligible to win; autologous, directed and therapeutic donors are not eligible.
  • Presenting blood donors will be issued one entry ticket for all of the prize drawings.  (If a donor is deferred and attempts to donate at another drive during the contest period, he or she is eligible for another entry ticket).
  • Presenting platelet donors will be issued one entry ticket for each platelet donation made during the campaign period.
  • Entry tickets are nontransferable and have no cash value, and the odds of winning are based on the number of entrants.
  • Decision of the judges is final in determining the winners through impartial drawings.  Winners will be notified.  Names of winners will be available by contacting 1-800-GIVE-LIFE.
  • Winners must show valid ID to claim prize, and minors may accept the prize with ID and signed permission of a parent or legal guardian.
  • Void where prohibited. Blood drive sponsors have the right to decline participation.

Individuals who are at least 17 years old (16 in some states with parental consent), meet height and weight requirements (at least 110 pounds based on height) and are in general good health may be eligible to donate blood.  Red Cross donor card or positive ID required.  Call or log on for more information.
