Media Center Blood Battle update: OSU holds
tenuous lead November 13, 2008 COLUMBUS, Ohio – At the midpoint in the Ohio State-Michigan Blood Battle, OSU defends an early lead as Michigan picks up speed. Ohio State made a strong start in the annual Blood Battle against Michigan with a number of early drives in the first week. However, Michigan ’s drives have been performing strongly, and the Wolverines are catching up to the Buckeyes. Both schools’ goal is 2,400 blood donations, and Michigan has several large blood drives scheduled during then next week and half. "It’s anybody’s game at this point,” said Nicole Baird, a Red Cross spokesperson. “If Ohio State wants to keep the Blood Battle trophy for a sixth year in a row, the Buckeyes likely will have to match Michigan’s current pace.” To donate, check the list of campus drives, or click the scheduling link above to sign up for a time and place of your convenience.
