Give blood to help Save Lives and Shop Big

Blood donors get chance to win grand shopping spree!

December 2009

‘Tis the season to give, and this holiday season those who go to give blood may end up receiving a grand shopping spree in return!

Come and roll up your sleeve to give blood at a participating blood drive in December and you can enter to win a $1,000 shopping spree at Easton and a free overnight stay at the Hilton at Easton.  Whether it’s buying the ultimate gifts for your family and friends or treating yourself to a once-in-a-lifetime shopping adventure, the Red Cross wants to make it happen for one lucky donor.

“The holiday season proves to be a challenge for the Red Cross each year,” said Rodney Wilson, communications manager for the local American Red Cross. “We need individuals to embrace the spirit of the season and give to those less fortunate through the gift of blood donation.  We hope this shopping spree opportunity reminds everyone how important it is to give blood.”

During the holiday season, hectic schedules often hinder even the most dedicated donors from coming to give the gift of life.  Unfortunately, increased travels can lead to more traumatic injuries and may increase the need for blood.

The Red Cross urges everyone to make donating blood a priority this winter. The Central Ohio Region needs at least 650 blood donors a day to meet patients’ needs at 39 area hospitals – regardless of holidays or vacations.

Join the Red Cross this December to give hope to those in need.  Just for coming to donate a pint of lifesaving blood, you could find yourself at the luxurious Hilton at Easton for a shopping spree at Columbus’ number one retail destination.

For more information about Easton, visit their website at EastonTownCenter.com.
